What is Agent OS?
Agent OS is the distributed computing environment or the virtual operating system applications using agents. Agents are the active, autonomous objects containing both the computational logic & state information, with capability of navigating an agent system such as the Agent OS, accessing the services offered by nodes within the system to complete an assigned task, on behalf of the human user or to another agent. Agent OS is the Java based agent host that provides supports for execution of the agents implemented in the Java. The design of the Agent OS features a minimal core system that provided an execution model for the agents, a network transparent event based communication mechanism, and is a model for accessing the available services. Agent OS is augmented and is extended by a system of services, which are implemented as an agents themselves. This report provides the description of an agent paradigm and design of the Agent OS.
